First time at 'The Local' today and won't be my last. Walked in and the place looked clean and elegantly comfortable. The seats were great, I'm rather big but the seats were wide and cushioned. The menu is online so already knew what I was going to get...Battered fish and chips but I opted fo no slaw or salt and it was exactly what I asked for and delicious to boot.
I was served by the lovely Marlene who was kind, patient and funny. I have worked in the food industry before and I enjoy watching wait staff work and boy Marlene is a powerhouse, always doing something, cleaning tables, serving food or setting up tables as well as serving drinks at the bar. Marlene made my lunch more enjoyable 😉 When Marlene was busy a young man was also serving food.
There is plenty of parking, inside and outside dining and the food portions are large.

We were lucky enough to decide to have dinner on the opening night for the new menu launch. The food was unbelievable, without a doubt the best food I’ve ever had at a ‘ local pub’, and in comparison to most restaurants all around Perth, it was absolutely mouth watering. The chicken liver parfait was my favorite followed by the most tasty pork belly.
Staff were lovely, friendly and perfectly attentive, and the ginger beer on tap was a great touch.
10/10 recommend for a unforgettable feed. So rare to find anywhere in Perth that is affordable and delivers such high end grub. Kids menu looked fantastic with some great healthy choices.

I really got to say this was outstanding. We are kiwis fresh from NZ and it had to be the best entree of hot Turkish bread and dips and the bestest fish and chips ever like we've eaten alot in our years. The service was fantastic the pricing was spot on cause we got 2 whole fillets!! Yes I said it 2 plus coleslaw, chips, dipping tartare( which was devine, better than Nana's )and everything was nice and clean 😋 honestly we can't say enough about the food and customer service 😀 Cheers to the chef " we'll be back"

Did you know that this legendary local serves up a cracking $12 porterhouse steak special on Mondays??? Oohh, I know, right?! 😁😍🤤 Just the thought of eating one of their beautifully cooked, delicious, steaks with the included 2 x sides & choice of sauce is enough to get me going but knowing its only $12??

Fantastic with new Chef/Wait staff!!!
My wife and I had a bad experience here mid 2014, but since the kitchen and wait staff have changed (so too has the menu, a significant improvement with previous menu items flavors now much better than they were), I would definitely recommend going on a Saturday night to eat in the bistro.
We only gave them another shot due to getting a shop-a-docket voucher, which turned out to be a great decision. The Surf and Turf had fantastic garlic prawns, with the steak cooked to perfection. The Lamb Shanks, which previously were of a "Moroccan" style, have now been changed to a much better tasting Irish Stew style gravy, braised with mash and well cooked vegetables.
We had decided to tip as the food being as good as it was, was complemented by fantastic wait staff with a bubbly, friendly and helpful attitude.
Well worth the money spent, in fact we will return and be happy to pay full price as the experience overall was so enjoyable.

Had a beautiful roast dinner tonight could not fault this dish from the taste to the price, we had 4 people dining and everyone was so pleased with their meals. The owner came over and introduced himself and asked how our meals were what a guy so down to earth and genuinely interested in our feedback loved to hear your story how you came about the hotel. We wish you all the best and we will definitely be back but not for 3 weeks as we are off to the US on holiday but will look forward to a roast on our return...

We were there last night for dinner13/10/18. I was amazed how much it has changed since my last visit. Food was really good and portions are great. They had 2 function last night and cook was bit slow, we waited 50 min to eat, but we didn't mind because when it came out it was really yummmy . it has improved a lot since new management took over . Manu is a lot lot better and prices are good. Definitely worth visiting. Guys keep good work I will be there more often definitely. Thanks Billie

I have never been to Kwinana Local, my partner works as a chef there and had never been neither. I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing with the service, atmosphere, or the quality of the food. The service from the staff was welcoming and professional, my porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection of medium rare. I would never comment this high on a restaurant, pub or anything. But Kwinana local is so worth the money. For the quality and sizing of the meals. I will 100% be back!

We had a little bit of a hiccup in that the food took longer than anticipated to come however the staff were outstanding in their explanation and customer service. The food was delightful and the staff acknowledged the delay and explained why.
We’ve been a few times and I can assure you will still continue to go again because one hiccup doesn’t mean we never come back again. It is always how people handled the hiccups that keep loyal customers loyal.

Really enjoyed our meals. Was quietly busy but as soon as we sat down more and more "locals" arrived which proves the menu, the food and drinks were on high demand... we got 3 of the $10 Steaks and the fillet of fish also garlic prawns.. and were very impressed... didnt wait to long. Steaks were cooked perfectly at medium well, medium and rare!!! Food was tasty and filling we will definitely be back and bring more family. Thanks kwinana local.

This is our family fave on Monday nights .... our "Steak night". Fully recommend the $14 porterhouse with chips and salad and sauce/gravy of choice. Beautifully char grilled and reddish pink inside, my medium rare is consistently tender and cooked perfectly. The chips and salad are fresh with the right amount of crunch and round off a meal full of flavour and best value for money. Highly recommend.

Last Saturday night me and friend decided too come down for a few drinks and a meal.
Firstly the porter house steak was cooked to perfection and would recommend the mushroom gravy to anyone.
Also the two girls behind the sports bar were absolutely incredible!! The smiles,laughter and banter is what has made me decide to come every Saturday night from now on!!

Hi we had a meal last night..the meal was disappointing compared to the one we had a fortnight ago..I did notice more new kitchen staff again ..considering it wasn't that busy it was a long wait for our meals to arrive ..there were various opinions on the food most were average at best ..and there seemed to be not much motivation in the kitchen..it will be a while before we give you another go ..

This was the latest of many visits to The Local, and it didn't disappoint! Such good service, such good food and excellent value for money.
Monday special was a $14 porterhouse, with chips and salad. Cheaper than a lot of meals from the golden arches, and so much nicer.
$45 for me and my wife, two steak lunches and drinks. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're in the town centre and feeling peckish, treat yourself!

The local has been through some changes since I went when it first opened. From great food to pretty dismal...everything! But I am happy to say The Restaurant is back on its A- Game, Fresh, Tasty and filled with flavour. It is rare to find a place that takes pride in what it produces but the Kwini Local serves up a chefs delight! -Staff 5/5 - Food 5/5 - Venue 4/5.

Good old fashion customer service is a lost art though last Saturday it was great to see that it still exists as Demi (behind the bar) absolutely rose to the occasion. All night she was bubbly, upbeat, pleasant and gave service with a smile. Interacting with all, she just was.exceptional at her job. With so many orders she never got one drink wrong. She def needs a raise

Second time dining here with elderly rellies who live in Kwinana. Really is a hidden gem. Food was delicious and piping hot. Staff super friendly. I loved the local vibe with local down to earth patrons. Having a carpeted floor in the dining area meant noise was muted which is far better than in tiled or wooden floored bistro’s.

Best F&C I've experienced in a long time. My companions said their steaks were perfect and the kids ate all their nachos and nuggets. Have to say that the staff member who served us was pleasant, happy, stressed because she was busy but gave us time and laughed and smiled making our whole experience wonderful. We said to each other we want to come back soon.

I organised a surprise 60 th for my partner and from the time we arrived to time we left the staff were wonderful and a special thanks to the chef all meals were excellent not one complaint and there were about 20 of us strongly recommend this place for a couple or family or a party many thanks Steve Thomas

Two opened May have helped. Food was really good. We had Espresso Martini - one of the best I have ever had Australia wide. Great prices all round too. The staff were so lovely, friendly and very helpful. Do yourself a favour and try it

I'm from North river and wanted to catch up with my brother for lunch.
The staff we very friendly and inviting the food was amazing, very large portions and very delicious, even though the main cook had the day off.
Recommended this place. And will definitely come again when I'm down that way.

We arrived at around 12.45pm, and the restaurant was packed with dinners
We ordered the Monday Special for a,200g Porterhouse Steak with Chips & Salad plus a kid's meal for my granddaughter. The serving was reasonably big, and it was delicious.
Highly recommended to drop-by when you are at Kwinana

My husband and I went there for the first time for his birthday.
Great portion of meals and taste delicious. We just find there wasn't much on the menu. The dining area was nice to sit in and nice outdoor area to. Great for a drink and A catch up. But the staff was friendly. We will return!
